About 4 to 5 hours North East from Las Vegas, is Bryce Canyon National Park.  I arrived to a few inches of fresh snow, and cold temperatures - but when the sun finally provided some light, I got some nice shots of the hoodoos

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area—Las Vegas, Nevada
About a month ago, I was in this same park after a conference.  Another meeting brought be back to Las Vegas so I came here again at dusk (the park closes at 8pm).  Here's the moon rising over some of the red rock canyon walls (this is cropped but not enhanced)

Las Vegas, Nevada
Sunrise as viewed from the 36th floor, MGM Hotel, Signature Tower (#2), shot through the glass window.  I ended up with a series of great shots on this morning; this is one of my favorites (this is pretty much the actual color of the sky that morning, only slightly adjusted to compensate for the gold mirror tinting on the hotel windows)

Sapphire Pool—Biscuit Basin—Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
I shot a number of pools, hot-springs, and geysers in Yellowstone, many with brilliant colors from the minerals and sulfurs. Here's one of my favorites - it shows the clarity of the water (and it was really hot too)
