Wildlife and Nature Photography

Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter
- Ansel Adams, Photographer (1902-1984)
I enjoy landscapes, but have too many for one page, so I split them into a set taken West of the Mississippi River,
and into two sets taken East of the River (in the Midwest and Eastern states) - these East shots were taken
in the Fall
months

Loew Lake State Park—Kettle Moraine State Forest—Hartford, Wisconsin
Cattails on Loews Lake, with fall colors in the background.  I hiked through some pretty thick brush, rotting trees, bog and marsh to access this lake, thinking I might get some bird shots, and I found this beautiful setting instead.  Well worth it!  One of my all time favorites!

Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area—Baraboo, Wisconsin
Taken while chaperoning a middle school Science Club, and then we went over to Devils Lake State Park.  This is well up the trail, about as far as you can go now, as much of the glen (small secluded valley) was damaged during a large flood two years ago.  This is looking back down the glen (behind me is the deeper valley)
